Having honed his craft as a recording artist, busker and activist, Theo Bard was motivated by a new generation of songwriters augmenting their songs with brooding electronic productions. Determined to learn, he began a 4-year self-imposed exile in a basement in Clapton, teaching himself music production, sustaining himself by busking on Broadway Market and running the popular Woodburner live music series. Now I am King is his debut full-length album and among the sources of inspiration we find bands and artists such as Alt-J, Massive Attack, Tupac and James Blake.
